The Peter Fowler build Mercedes 450 SLC Sports Sedans is one of the pinnacle race cars in Australian motorsport history. Built as a dedicated space frame race car with big V8 the car was initially built with the desire of getting the local community of Shepparton Victoria and corporate partners to support motorsport. Raced initially by John Bowe, the car suffered development and teething issues before driving duties were taken over by Brad Jones. Fresh out of Formula Ford at the time! Following this period the car was purchased by Bryan Thomson, who took his and the cars first national title in 1985, winning the Australian GT Championship. Now owned by Simon Pfitzner, the car has been returned to it’s glory days in Australian Sports Sedans and takes to the track regularly as part of the Historic Sports Sedans series.
